Try Something New
Number one. While you're waiting, I suggest trying a ton of things. What I mean by this is all whole bunch of hobbies. Go out and travel as much as possible, go out and do as many things as you possibly can to see if anything clicks. For instance, one of the things I loved to do when I was waiting on the Lord was to learn how to paint. I took a lot of classes. I was really good at it, and I enjoyed it. And so I began to really become really comfortable with the artistic world. As a result, I've learned a whole bunch of skills about how to plug into creativity.
Now, of course, this helps me in what I'm doing now, but at the time, it just seemed like I was painting. So you know these skills that you learn while you're trying new things. Whether it's I don't know, perhaps you're really enjoy scuba diving. Or maybe you like to do scrapbooking. Whatever it is, there tends to be skills that you learn in anything that you go after any hobby or anything interests you that you can use later on in your life. When you're God-size dream begins to materialize, you see, in developing different skills.
Sometimes your God sized dream will also come to the surface. For instance, I have a friend who really enjoys making jewelry. She makes jewelry for, um, all types of occasions, which is really kind of fun. She has jewelry that she gives to people for anniversaries, jewelry. She gives her baby showers all this type of stuff. What ended up happening was that her skills and learning how to make jewelry ended up being her god sized dream. She began to start a business with her jewelry, and now that jewelry is used to fund an orphanage in Africa. Now that's really cool, and I really love the fact that she was going after a neat kind of hobby or skill, and she was trying a ton of things in order to get to the point of where her God size dream was. After the break, we're going to go into number two and number three, and you'll love these additional tips.

Not Trash to God
And welcome back. So for the next two tips, I really want you to consider options that it may be it a little bit outside of your box. But this is gonna be the fun part of dreaming big with God because often times God will use the most bizarre things to get your attention and say, Hey, this is for you This is your god sized dream. So number two is this when you're waiting, know that God doesn't discard anything you do in faith.
When I was waiting for my God size dream, I decided to start a program called Adopt-A-Block. This came out of just my love for my community and love for people who needed to know the love of Christ. And so what I did is I got a few people for my church. At every Saturday we adopted a neighborhood block and we'd walk around the block and we do anything that the neighbors needed us to do. So often times we were taking care of the leaves or painting a fence. But the cool thing was that we were developing relationships. The people in this community began to come to us with a whole variety of needs. One day I was taking somebody from our neighborhood to the doctor's. Another time I was taking someone from our neighborhood to ah, tutor for their daughter. See what it was is we were developing relationships with people who wouldn't typically go to a church, and so they became to know who Jesus was just by what we're doing on Saturday mornings. This was such a cool time for me, and I really felt in love was serving people through that.

That became another thing it became a nonprofit that I started. It was the first non profit that I started. I was able to learn how to do the paperwork for nonprofits. I began to work with teams at that point, developing boards of directors, and all of that stuff is now. Things that I do is I teach other people, and I coach other people how to build their own nonprofit. So you never know where these things can lead or where they end up. Serving people whichever capacity that might end up being, whether you do something like me and adopted block, or whether you attend choir practice at your church or you help with the janitorial needs.
Whatever it is, you can be sure that God will use whatever you doing. And he's gonna open a door for it to be a stepping stone to your God-size dream.
Invest in your Skills
While you're waiting, consider investing in your skills. Now, when I tell people this, they tend to think that I'm talking about going back to college. Now that may be one thing that the Lord wants you to do. But really, investing in your skills can be anything from you really want to learn how to paint better. And so you hire a really good painting coach in your town. Or perhaps you want to learn how to do websites. So you taken online course it teaches you how to do websites, but it could also mean going back to school, going back to college or getting a certificate for a degree, investing in a trade, whatever it is.
I just want you to consider ways that you can invest in skills that are interesting to you because God will definitely use those down the way. Let me tell you something that happened to me on my way to my God size dream, I began going back to school for emerging media and digital art. Well, guess what? Right now, I'm doing a podcast. This is something I would never have been able to do if I hadn't been going back to school to learn the new things the new computer software, the new stuff that they've got out for people to use. I was able to learn a whole bunch of skills about website design and podcasts and all sorts of things that I now use in everyday life in my God sized dream.
After that, the Lord told me to go get my graduate degree and I went and got my graduate degree in writing. And again guess what I write all the time. I'm writing books. I'm writing articles. I'm writing podcast episodes. All of these things have become really important to me along my way to my god sized dream. So going back to school may be an option for you, But also consider investing in your skills in different ways so you could even be going and taking added dance classes. If you're a dancer, maybe you want go to an online course registry and find something new that you want to learn.
I think these are great ways to begin to move forward in your God size dream. These three changes are key to be being precision for God's eyes dreams, and they could be a lot of fun without putting too much pressure on yourself, which is really what I don't want you to do is stress. You really want to just enjoy this process. Waiting can be really difficult if you're just sitting around hoping that you're gonna have this divine, angelic encounter where an Angel drops down out of heaven and tells you what you're supposed to do. In fact, I don't know a single person who has that kind of experience.
But what you're doing is you're moving forward and action and God sees your faith. And he says that person is waiting for a god sized dream. Let me show them something that they may need to do.
